Senior Accountant -Baghdad❗️

One of the well known Companies in Baghdad is seeking for the below position as detailed below:

1. Work Location: Baghdad

2. Title: Senior Accountant

3. Company Major: Automotive

4. Working Hours: Full-time

5. Working Days: 6 Days./Week

6. Languages: Arabic and English

7. Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at

least 2 years in a supervisory role.

8. Education Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

9. Job Requirements: 

1. 1. Financial Management and Reporting

• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions.

• Conduct monthly and annual closing processes.

• Reconcile bank statements and maintain cash flow reports.

1. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the Finance Manager and department

heads.

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

• Prepare financial forecasts to support business planning.

1. 3. Compliance and Auditing

• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and Mercedes-Benz Group

financial policies.

• Prepare and submit tax filings.

• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation and

addressing audit findings.

1. 4. Team Supervision and Development

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting staff, providing training and guidance as

needed.

• Review and approve the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and

compliance.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the

team.

1. 5. Systems and Process Improvement

• Optimize accounting processes and workflows for efficiency.

• Manage the implementation and maintenance of Autoline or equivalent accounting

software. (IMPORTANT)

• Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.

1. 6. Liaison and Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Finance Manager, external auditors,

and regulatory authorities.

• Communicate financial performance and insights to senior management.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
